IBADAN: The City of Brown Roofs.

I am incurably attached to Ibadan. I was born and bred in that city and I'm always so nostalgic about that city of brown roofs. Apart from the hospitality of the people, one reason I'm in love with the city is the cost of living.

On Saturday, I took about 10 people for lunch at Mama Ope.If you don't know, Ibadan has many fantastic local eateries with specializations in different delicacies. For Mama Ope, no one in Ibadan does rice and beans like she does. Her fried stew comes with a special recipe. It's the same quality and taste anytime and has been like that for years- right from when she started in a small kiosk opposite Veterinary at Mokola. Of course, she not only prepares rice and beans but
she has other varieties also.

Inastrait is the best Amala and Abula (Gbegiri with ewedu) restaurant in the whole wide world ( Gbegiri is made from ground beans). Inastrait (adapted from the world "illiterate"- the late founder of the restaurant who was unlettered described herself as "Inastrait" and the name caught on) is seated on Mokola hills beside the Cultural Centre. Life is not complete without her steaming plate of Amala, Abula and goat meat. You even have the opportunity of looking into the
steaming pot of meat and choosing the particular meat you want. Life certainly doesn't come better than that. The late founder's daughter who now runs that restaurant embarrassed me one day when she greeted me in the presence of colleagues who came with me from Lagos, "E ku Ojo meta" (it's been a long while).
My colleagues wondered if she was my facebook fan. Before I finished the meal, she had sent a souvenir of face towel and ceramic cup as my gift to my table. So much for loyalty.

Then, there's Mama Soji on the way to Eleyele- not far from Magazine Road roundabout. Her pounded yam is the best in town. Off Adamasingba/Mokola Road and not far from Fessy Electronics is Mama Samson. If you want Amala as early as 7am, Mama Samson is the place to be. You just won't mind the fact that she keeps pets and some dogs will stroll around as you relish the hot plate of Amala- and my, oh my, she uses a lot of red oil for her soup that I often wondered if she was given free of charge. The way she handles the serving spoon and divides the actual soup from
the palm oil is reminiscent of the way the Red Sea was
parted. Of course, Mama Samson is our own Moses.

At Bodija Oju-Irin, in one container beside a mechanic village is another woman whose crowd competes with the queue at GTB branches. On one occasion years back, I took my Branch Manager and some visiting superiors to that eatery and the shock on their face was just too apparent. All of us were on a long queue with bowls in our hands and we pushed and shoved as we shouted, "Emi lo kan, e da mi lohun" (It is my turn, please attend to me). One of the people with me was sure the woman must have used juju and he asked us to leave immediately. That was the last time I went to that place. Her own specialty is also Amala.

In downtown Oniyanrin area is the famous Laskabo. Laskabo(a loose translation meaning 'my plate is full') is as old as the city itself. I remember sneaking out of church on Sundays when I was a teenager just to have a taste of her 'Amala Lafun'. I sneaked out as the pastor announced the title of the sermon and I was usually back before the sermon was over- my father always asked me for the topic of the sermon after
church.

Time will fail me to talk about Iya Ila who has an eatery on Ojoo road leading to Agbowo/UI. Her stock fish is her stock in trade. The woman who runs an eatery on Polytechnic/ Apete Road (opposite WAEC) prepares the best "Ogunfe" (goat meat) in town. She usually kills about 3 goats per day. At a time, there were about 4 major eateries at the back of First Bank on Secretariat, Agodi. That was the rendezvous for most civil servants some years back. I wonder if that joint is still there. Classic Food Canteen has colonized Iwo Road axis. Some years back, there was the rumour that she puts juju in her food and she was even
invited to a local radio programme- but she survived. Was she a victim of people who were jealous of her success? At Challenge axis (not far from Fidelity Bank) is also a very famous local eatery. I've forgotten her name but I used to send a runner to buy food from there back in those days. In Agbeni Market, anytime I visited a particular customer, I never left without being treated to her hospitality- a steaming bowl of Amala with "assorted" meat. For theuninitiated, "assorted" meat means "orisirisi"- from "roundabout", "nnkan inu-eran", "abodi" and "ponmo". If you have not eaten "agemawo" (ponmo with a bit of meat), you need to repent urgently because the time is at hand. And not
far from Adelabu Shopping Complex at Orita was one canteen where the woman was very popular for her "bush meat". On my way to Babcock years back, we used to stop over every evening to have our fill.

I'm sorry for digressing but back to my gist. After about 10 of us had our fill on Saturday ( pounded yam, Amala, rice and beans with guinea fowl meat, "bokoto", beef, etc), I almost entered a state of shock when I saw the bill- a paltry N7,850. That's an average of N785 per person. All the people with me burst out laughing- of course, they were Lagos people. A few weeks back, a local mechanic fixed my vehicle and collected N13,000 from me- labour inclusive. One
major car repair outlet in Victoria Island billed me N70,000 for the same issue and couldn't even fix the problem after collecting the 70k. Prior to that, another major service centre billed me N270,000 for the same problem. My Ibadan mechanic fixed it for 13k and the vehicle has been fine since.

Just yesterday, I heard about a guy who protested to his landlord because his rent on his 3-bedroom flat was
increased from N100,000 per annum to N120,000 per
annum. Yes, just a 20k increment. I can attest to that
because in 2000, my rent on a 2-bedroom flat less than 50k per annum and I always boasted that I never saved for rent in my life until I relocated to Lagos. When I moved to a 3-bedroom bungalow that had such space in the premises I could conveniently park over 20 cars, my starting rent was 75k per annum and then it was increased to 120k over a period of 3 years. That was in 2006-2008/9 thereabouts.

And so today, I brought my car for periodic maintenance to Akinloye, my Ibadan mechanic. The last time it clocked 5,000km and I took it to the service centre in VI, my bill was over 50k. Thinking of whiling away the time, I took a taxi drop from the mechanic village to Ventura Mall at Samonda. The taxi driver initially said N650 but I haggled and eventually, he took N150. I couldn't believe it. Coming back,i decided to take a proper taxi. That one took N30. I
had to forgo my change of N20 because I gave him N50. He thanked me profusely. And now my mechanic, after outlining the cost of all the things he bought, charged me 3k for labour.

I just love this city so much.

WORDS OF ADVISE ON MARRIAGE FOR WOMEN

1. The wife that wins all arguments with her husband is not wise. The home is not a law court.

2. The wife that uses sex as a weapon in the home - placing embargo, going to bed in jeans shorts and trousers - lacks wisdom.

3. The wife that uses the modern trends and laws of
"women's rights" to insult or ridicule her husband simply makes a fool of herself.

4. A woman that makes her home devoid of peace through bickering, nagging and quarrels needs help. A man should be eager to run away from office to be at home, for that should be the safest and cosiest place on earth for him.

5. Modern-day equality in marriage does not mean
competition. It simply means partnership. Taking advantage of such equality to turn around and become the de facto head of the home and oppress the man is tantamount to playing with fire. If you destroy your home, soon you will be the boss of an empty home.

6. A wise wife makes the man feel so good that he assumes that he is the head. Once he gets that feeling, the woman gently wields her power and the head actually turns to wherever the neck wants without a protest.

7. A wife that does not pull herself away from friends'
influence and advice or even from the control of her mother and father will have herself to blame.

8. When a man is looking for a wife, he bypasses women of different shapes and sizes to choose a wife. But soon after childbirth, many women hide under the excuse of childbirth to let go of themselves. Many stop bothering about their looks, shape, dressing, etc. Within 5 years of marriage, people start wondering if the wife is the man's aunt, even though she is 7 years younger. Her defence is that if he truly loves
her, he should love her the way she is, but when looking for a wife, he saw people like the present YOU and ignored them and settled for the former YOU. Today, you go to bed smelling of onions.... You go to bed wearing grandmothers' clothes. Why are you playing with your marriage? Love is not
about looks - we know. But looks enhances love and
marriage. There is a difference between someone disfiguring herself and the person being disfigured by an accident. Please don't be complacent. As hard as it may be, work on looking like you were when he first saw you and began the chase.

9. If every night you are tired, sleepy, sore, down with
headache or fever, "not in the mood," you are a joker, a
serious comedian!

10. If your children suddenly become more important to you than your husband, you need prayers.

11. If you assume that as the woman, only you need to be pampered and fussed over while the man is a stone that has no emotions, you need to be pitied.

12. A woman that has the mind of a wife does not excite her husband. Wives are usually complacent and presumptuous. A wife must strive to have the mind of a girlfriend. A girlfriend is always nicer, sweeter, more loving and always thinking of ways to wow her sweetheart; a girlfriend does not try to win
all arguments, does not call the man a "useless man", is not careless about her looks or dressing, always smiles and laughs with the man, sends the man sweet messages and calls, etc. Are you your husband's girlfriend in word and indeed?

How to prevent Saggy Breast

What Causes Saggy Breasts
For starters, breasts do not have muscle, they
are made of fat, connective tissues and milk-
producing glands, and they need proper care to
keep them in good shape. Though saggy breasts
usually start happening after a woman reaches
40, it can occur earlier. According to various
studies, it is understood that when a woman
reaches her late thirties, the skin can become
loose and begin to show signs of aging.

According to the Oregon Institute of Breast
Health Education, this is especially true in the
breasts, particularly if a woman has gone
through a pregnancy.

Apart from age & pregnancy, other factors that
cause sagging breasts such as menopause,
rapid weight loss or gain, strenuous exercise,
nutritional deficiencies, smoking, over-tanning
and wearing a poorly fitting bra.

Many believe that breastfeeding can cause
sagging, but this is FALSE according to a 2008
study published in the Aesthetic Surgery
Journal which concluded that breastfeeding isn’t
a risk factor for ptosis (a fancy name for
drooping). The real culprit is actually pregnancy
itself, as weight gain during pregnancy can
cause ligaments to stretch, which can lead to
drooping later. You can minimize this issue by
making sure you stick to a relatively healthy
weight gain while you’re pregnant,

Some diseases like breast cancer or respiratory
conditions like tuberculosis can also cause
breasts to sag. Excessive consumption of
nicotine, alcohol and carbonated beverages can
also contribute to the problem.

A wide variety of creams and lotions are
available on the market to tighten and tone up
sagging breasts. However, if you prefer natural
methods, there are many simple and easy home
remedies that you can try.

How To Firm The Breasts
There are a number of home remedies for
regaining the firmness of saggy breasts,
including regular pectoral exercises, massaging,
masks, plant oils and essential oils in different
forms.

MAINTAIN AN OPTIMAL WEIGHT
If you are someone who struggles with weight,
and if gain and lose weight continuously and
fail to stay at a steady optimal weight, it could
take a toll on your breasts. Your skin, especially
over the breasts, loses elasticity when
stretched. Also when you lose weight, you can
lose fat from the breasts very fast as compared
to other parts of the body. This continuous
stretching and relaxing of the skin makes it
droop and sag over time.

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
According to experts at the University of
Wisconsin Hospitals, the skin is
comprised of cells that are predominantly made
up of water. Lack of water takes a toll on the
skin, and can make the skin over your breast
look shrunken and dull. When there is less
water in your body the skin doesn’t receive the
requisite amount and might look flaky, dry and
get wrinkled. This could lead to premature aging
of the skin around the breasts making it lose
firmness and sag.

Woman gives birth to a lizard [Photo]

A midwife in Indonesia was shocked after apparently delivering a lizard instead of a human newborn.
A lizard apparently oozed out of the ‘pregnant’ woman, named Debi Nubatonis.

The lizard was apparently covered in mucus and blood as she was giving birth.

Bebi reportedly had all the usual signs of being eight-months pregnant.

Authorities in Indonesia are actually taking the incident rather seriously even going as far as launching an official investigation into the incident.

After further investigation, it was suggested that the woman, already a mother of two human children, was suffering from pseudocyesis, or phantom pregnancy, with an empty womb.

A doctor, the Chief Medical Officer of nearby Kupang City, Indonesia, gave this rather sobering conclusion.

‘So the gecko coming out is probably some kind of hoax.

‘Childbirth of another species has never been reported in science.’

Some news organisations have quoted neighbours claiming that Ms Nubatonis and her family apparently practice ‘witchcraft.’

Fraudsters Detain Policemen For Hours In Bayelsa

Two policemen who had gone to arrest alleged fraudster at the Mechanic Village, Tombia, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State were instead detained by the fraudsters who resisted arrest.

Punch reports that the policemen from Akenfa Police Division on the outskirts of Yenagoa, had received a complaint from one Mr. Frederick Ojukwu, and a witness, Mr. Ebi Ozegbe, over an alleged N140, 000 fraud.

Ojukwu was said to have given the suspects the sum of N140,000 as a deposit for a second-hand vehicle with the understanding that after inspecting the vehicle, he would pay the balance but when he had gone to inspect the car, the suspects, led by a man, identified simply as Obum, had shown him a rickety vehicle, said to be good only for the museum.

Ojukwu rejected the car and asked for a refund of his money which the suspects agreed to pay but after the incident they disappeared for months. Unfortunately for them, the complainant got information that they had resurfaced at the mechanic village. Ojukwu then proceeded with a journalist, Ozegbe to the Akenfa Police Station to report the matter and they were given two policemen, who accompanied them to the park to arrest the suspects.

But things turned around as they got to the park. As they tried to accost the alleged fraudsters, the suspects grabbed the policemen, the complainant and journalist and gave them the beating of their lives. They also tore the uniforms of the policemen who they held hostage for a few hours and seized the phones of the complainant and the journalist.

An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity for safety reasons said, "The four, including the two policemen, could have been lynched if not for the timely intervention of the police reinforcement, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Akenfa."

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Bayelsa command, Mr. Alex Akhigbe who had gone to fix his car there on that fateful day said he had to call the DPO when he saw the situation was getting out of hand.

It was gathered that the DPO led a team to the park and was able to arrest the situation, freeing their colleagues and arresting some of the mobsters while some escaped.

Mercy Aigbe Respons To The Her Alleged Romance With Gov. Rotimi Amaechi

There were rumours about popular Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe-Gentry having love affair with Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

In a recent interview with Encomium Yoruba movie actress and the mother of two refuted all the gossips about her close relationships with Gov. Rotimi Amaechi.

What’s the relationship between you and Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi?

I only know him to be Rivers State governor, and from his performances so far, he has proved himself to be very sensitive when it comes to the plight of his people. He has worked tirelessly to give them good roads, improved healthcare, etc. He has also alleviated poverty in the state. That much I know because I have family and friends who live in the state, and I hear from them regularly the way he governs the state. And how people sing his praises. Although, I have not had the privilege of meeting him in person, I have heard much about his achievements since he became the governor of the state.

But it was rumoured that you collected N5m from him to feature at the 2014 Children’s Day celebration in the state. What’s your reaction to that?

There is no iota of truth in it. I never at a point collected a kobo from him. I don’t even know him one-on-one. The rumour also has it that both of you are in a sizzling romance, that’s’ why you were invited to the May 27, 2014 celebration? It’s not just untrue but laughable.

But were you truly the only actress invited for the ceremony and did you actually attend?

I wasn’t the only one invited. What happened was that there was a book reading session organized by Best of Nollywood in conjunction with the Rivers State government, and celebrities were invited, among whom Alex Ekubo, Yomi Fash Lanso, Dayo Amusa, Olaitan Ogunbele and others. I was also invited but I was out of the country then. So, I couldn’t attend. I think it was the initiative of Rivers State government. I wasn’t the only actress invited for the programme. So, I don’t know what could have informed such rumour.

TOP 11 controversial Nollywood Actresses

She said: "Please don't call it a sex toy business at all. I don't really do sex toy stuff. We sell men and

People who say I sell sex toys are mistaken. It's not a new thing that some people don't want another person's progress for reason best known to them.

What they are interested in is destructive criticisms. Yes, I sell vibrators, but that's not what I concentrate on. That's just an integral part of my business.

The problem we have in this country is that of poor mentality. Those who use vibrators are not prostitutes as against the public impression about them."

Doesn't She know that a vibrator is a sex toy.

Blogger's Diary - My Encounter with the Rapist by Emeh Achanga....

I had just moved to Lagos from Cameroon a few months earlier.. it was 2010..I was lucky to clinch a job with a reputable media consultancy company in Ikeja..Since I lived at my uncle's house in Egbeda.I took a bus from Egbeda that morning, and seated beside me was the most impeccably dressed man I had seen..He looked about 40 and so out of place .

"He should be in his own car"..I thought to myself..My eyes didn't betray my thoughts as I kept a straight face .I noticed is eyes scan  me,resting on the file on my lap. It had a Lagos State government logo on it .
“Lagos State huh” he said with his eye on the file..
”Excuse me”? I retorted …."I mean you work with the government right "?He replied..
"Yes...sort of…" I said with a shrug
Actually he was right because I was a Governor’s correspondent..
You an intern or an IT student? He inquired further.I decided I had said enough and kept quiet. He then said “Sorry for the bad manners, I’m Pastor Jude(not real name)…
His phone rang, I relaxed  ...A pastor, wow no wonder he looked so put together  ...

”Yes yes, my driver just called in sick and you know how I feel about driving in Lagos..I don’t trust my brother either..Yes, so if you can send one of your driver’s with a car he can pick me up…”
He dropped the call and turned to me
“Do you know God”? I was like “Ofcourse I know God”..He said “No, do you really know him? Are you committed and faithful to him?.You see I was going to take a taxi when God said, take a bus.Minister to someone today. You will change someone’s life today..What is your name young lady”
Emeh..I stammered “..Emeh,God has a message for you..He wants you to be closer to him. What church do you attend? “I’m catholic “I replied
I have nothing against Catholics, but you need a strong church. For the kind of job you do, you are prone to temptation..so you need a real church ..
Fast forward to some minutes later, he handed me the address to his church, a complimentary card which said he was a pastor/architect..When it was time to pay the bus conductor ..He said
“I can afford to pay for our fare..But I want you to start your journey to God by sowing a seed. So pay the fare for your new pastor..I wanted to exclaim “WHAT”? Then I relaxed and said to myself"Emeh obey the voice and sow a seed". I prayed for the both of us..One woman seated near me muttered “OLODO”I would later find out it meant fool.
So we got to Ikeja and he decided to say a prayer for me, there at the bus park.I was ashamed of the eyes which were glaring at us ..He gave me some verses to read and made me promise I would attend week service that same day. I told him if I closed early from work ,because I usually closed late at night ..He said , sacrifice a day for the lord and you will see a miracle. I went to work feeling elated, excited and reinvigorated..By 4pm, my phone rang and a lady was on the other end of the phone..
”Hello,is this sister Emeh? Pastor …told me to remind you of our bible study today..Please don’t fail. You will be blessed .
I decided to tell my boss I was feeling ill and had to go to church. He usually wouldn't let me go as I was usually the last to leave the office..But he couldn't say No to church  and I was Egbeda bound .First of all, I didn’t know the location of the church and it took me an hour of back and forth calls with the lady to find the junction which was the beginning ..She told me pastor went to pick up some people in his house that I should try calling him to see if he could bring me down to the venue..I called him and he was like
“Yes Emeh, where are you? Are you there? I told him no bike man knew the place and I was at a certain junction. He told me to wait there that he would pick me up so we all go with the people.2 minutes later, he drove in a Prado jeep and picked me up. He asked me if I read the verses .I told him I forgot because I was so busy..He chastised me..
We got to a certain street and he packed the car by the street and asked me to come in. I asked if that was where the house fellowship was taking place and he said ,that was his house. His brother, sister and a few others who would go to church with us were there. So, we entered the house .It was a large house ,no guard in sight but I heard voices ..Instead of going into the main house he was leading me towards the boys quarters..

We got there and there was a lady and a man and I greeted them and he told me to sit ..I did but the room was stuffy and didn't look like people were praying. Then he offered me a bottle of fanta and signaled to the guy to come out..He went out to meet him..Seconds later, the lady joined ..I was about to drink the fanta when my phone vibrated against my thigh making me drop the fanta and spill the contents on the rug..It was the church lady asking if I had seen the pastor,I said yes i had and she dropped rather suddenly .I ran to the little kitchen to look for a rag to clean up the rug when my eyes caught the waste bin, there were cigarette butts in it.I have nothing against smoking but was taken aback.I shrugged thinking the house may not be for the pastor's when i spotted an open condom pack ..

My mind told me to get out of the house and i dropped the rag to leave when he appeared ..
"Where are you coming from?"
"I..spilled the drink so I went to get a rag to clean it "I stuttered back
You WHAT? He said with such a high tone ,I took a step back.."You mean you didn't drink it?
No..I didn't. I'm sorry sir,can we leave now to the church..
"Why the hurry girl.?Calm down, there is still time...he said walking towards me with a glint in his eyes.
I froze..
SIR, PLEASE I HAVE TO LEAVE NOW
"Leave to where?I want us to chill and have some fun.
"What do you mean chill and have some fun? I replied...
I mean..have sex..I love you..
I couldn't believe what i just heard. Then it all came to me, this guy may not be who I thought he was..He must have read my thoughts because he said
Well, let me confess to you.I am not a pastor, don't own a church.I don't give a shit about all that .But I really like you.I want you.So what's it gonna be.
I was speechless. He was no more the honorable, well put together man I saw earlier..I took a closer look and realized,he looked more like a tout. His persona was a facade and his accent had totally changed... I decided to be bold...
"You what? You deceived me for what?I have to leave now Mr man, get out of my way.I am a lawyer and I will.....
He laughed...
You don't get it right Mrs Lawyer? You aren't leaving until I say so.There is no one in this building ,the gate is locked ...So lets get down to business and these are my rules...Take off your clothes gently or we do it the hard way....
He showed me a pocket knife and I froze..
(have to stop here....To be continued.)
My diaries are my real and uncensored life experiences.......

Lagos Na Wa: Man-With-A-Snake Is New Scam In Town [READ]

When a man with a snake who appears to be mad decides to target you, stop and ask yourself these questions:
Is he truly mad?
Why you?
Are you carrying anything valuable?

I know these questions may not easily come to your mind at that moment, escaping the madman, avoiding a snake bite will tend to be uppermost on your mind. Well not for long, especially when you discover that within that melee, you have lost a hundred grand! This happened recently to a colleague of mine and yes, here in Lagos, yes again on the island, the Victoria Island.

He had just stepped out of a bank and walked like 200 metres when he noticed a man with a snake. It looked like the man was making towards him so he decided to change direction. The man with the snake must have read his mind for at that same moment he changed direction as well and it was to the same place.

This happened again and again, my colleague, Mr X become agitated and concerned as this wasn’t looking like a coincidence anymore.

Well fortunately, he didn’t feel alone as there were other seemingly scared people who were also trying to avoid the “man with the snake” as well. Soon they all started bumping each other while trying to dodge and escape the scare.

Okay, thank God that is over, they finally avoided him. Phew, what a relief, but wait a minute . . . . where is the money? Mr X “borrowed himself some brain matter” immediately. He turned while remembering all that took place awhile ago, his eyes locked on to one of the guys who until a moment ago he thought was a victim like himself. He dashed for him and straightway demanded for his money. While still blabbering as if he didn’t understand, trust my brother from the other side of the Niger, tore his shirt top down, grabbed his trousers and picked a dangerous looking stone with which he threatened to redesign his head while shouting the popular “Thief! Thief!!”

People were already gathering, the accomplices of the cornered guy quickly came to his rescue, yes you guessed right, the mad man too. The money surfaced. “Count it, is it complete?” One wonders if they knew how much was there in the first place. Well Mr X didn’t bother to count and neither pressed charges, was just glad to put some distance between himself and the crowd that had now gathered.

How did I know? Well he told the story, now I have told the story, please tell the story, so that people can be aware of the new trick in town. Did I hear say, “Lagos na wa, I swear!”

Naija, ingeniously evil!

In this exclusive Interview with Vanguard’s Showtime Celebrity, revealed that she could do a music video completely nude with no pánt or brá. She caught a lot of attention with that revelation. Her new single titled “Chocolate” came out two weeks ago. Excerpts:

I’ve done so many songs, but right now, I have only one song out, Choke. I featured Don Coleone. It wasn’t a big hit though, but my second single produced by Popito and mixed by Brains dropped two weeks ago. I think this one is going to be a hit by the special grace of God.

When did you get into the Nigerian music industry?
I got into the music industry in 2012. That was when I released my first single with Don Coleone and now, I’ve been working hard to get something that will make wave. I just don’t want to release anyhow. Have you done any music videos? I did a viral video for Choke. It’s on Youtube. I had many viewers.

Who inspired you to go into music?
I love Whitney Houston. I actually started singing her songs in primary school. I loved her so much. She inspired me.

You said you could go nudé in a music video?
I could go nudé in my musical video if that is exactly what my script says.

Can you do a lesbian scene?
If that is what the script says. I can do anything the script says because I am not the scriptwriter. So, definitely anyone who writes the script for my video knows what he is doing. So if that is exactly what the script says, then as an artiste, I have to do it.

What’s the craziest thing you can do on camera?
I could kíss. I could let a guy touch my bóóbs. I could let a guy smack my áss. I can kíss a girl, like wet kíss in a music video, but if that is what the script says.

Would you say you are promiscuous in real life, or is it just for the act?
In real life, I’m a very free person. In my videos, I’m going to be free, in entertaining; I’m going to go to any length but in real life, yes. I am very promiscuous.

What’s your general view about séx?
Harmony Séx is nice. Everybody needs it. So long as you do it with the right person and you don’t regret after doing it, séx is good for everyone. It makes your mind open. It makes your body open. You think nicely after having séx, so long as you do it with the right person and at the right time.

Are you planning on releasing any uncensored videos?
You know, it’s so difficult to have an uncensored video in Nigeria because of the culture and the background but like I keep saying, if Rihanna goes nudé, the whole Nigerian men would be crazy like they want to see it. Beyoncé, it’s like she’s the most responsible person on earth, but she goes nudé in her video, and people don’t judge her. She’s entertaining; she’s giving people what they want to see. Entertainment is all about making people see new things. I don’t mind going nudé in my video but I’m don’t want people to judge me based on what I do in my video because at the end of the day, I’m just trying to make people watch something new. I just want to make people feel entertained. That is what I’m out for, so I’ll go to any length to give people a new view.

When was the last time you had séx?
The last time I had séx was four days ago in South Africa.

What does a man do to attract you?
I like men with a good heart. I like men with a very big heart. I like men who tell the truth. A lot of men lie so much because they want to get down and I keep saying to myself, you do not have to lie that much because you want to get down. If she wants to get down, she wants to, but you don’t have to tell so much lies to a girl. Just go straight to the point.

What turns you on?
Kissés. I can’t have séx with a guy that I cannot kíss. Kissés turn me on.

What’s your selling point?
I don’t even know my selling point. Maybe it’s my smile. I can’t say it’s my bóóbs because a lot of people just tell me you’ve got a very beautiful smile. I think my smile is the most amazing thing because people just say ‘oh Harmony, keep smiling.’

How was growing up like for you?
Growing up was so tough. My dad was so strict. A lot of people know my dad but I’m not going to say his name. He was an actor. He’s a very sweet father but strict. He never wanted me to be in the entertainment industry. I guess that’s why it took me so long to grow up and decided this is what I want to do. He never wanted me close to the industry. He knows everything that happens in the industry, so I guess he didn’t want me to pass through all that but at the end of the day, I’m all grown up. I have to decide what I want to do.

How many are you in your family?
We’re two. I and my younger brother.

Where did you study?
I finished from LASU. I studied Public Administration.

What is your philosophy of life?
I feel being good is everything in life because I know that whatever you do will definitely come back to you. So, you have to be good. You have to be good to the people that are good to you. -

EXCLUSIVE: How Arik Air “steals” from us — passengers

“The whole experience has left me feeling violated. I do not intend to fly Arik Air anywhere outside Nigeria.”

When Elizabeth Nwafor booked an Arik Air ticket from Lagos to Johannesburg, South Africa, the last thing on her mind was being robbed en route her destination.

Ms. Nwafor went on a short vacation to Johannesburg on October 24, 2013. She boarded the Abuja– Lagos-Johannesburg flight with the airline using its Boeing 737-800 plane for the W3103 international flight.

Immediately she arrived Johannesburg and retrieved her briefcase from the luggage section, she noticed its lock had been broken.

On noticing the broken lock, Ms. Nwafor said she approached the Arik Air desk in Johannesburg to inquire if there was security check on her bag.

“When I picked up my luggage, I noticed that the padlock of my briefcase had been broken.

So I went to the Arik desk in Johannesburg to file a complaint and find out what had happened; probably they must have broken it for security check although I did not see any sticker to indicate that,” Ms. Nwafor said.

To her surprise, the man on the desk informed her that there was no security check on her bag as such checks were not done by the airline in Johannesburg, and any such checks would have been done in Lagos.

However, he gave her a complaint form to fill; should she “discover any items missing from my suitcase.”

Ms. Nwafor said she decided to keep mum on the incident as she had no time to check through and be sure there were missing items in the bag.

“I wasn’t going to say anything about it,” she said. “But when we arrived in Lagos on our return flight, I boarded the shuttle bus with a number of people; about 20 of them and it turned out that nine had had the same experience and things were actually stolen from them.”

While Ms. Nwafor was lucky nothing was stolen from her bag, several other passengers on a similar flight three days later had worse experience.

A team of victims
Prince Sajere, who led a nine-member contingent, including the Miss Ambassador for Peace 2013, on a trip to Johannesburg said the flight was a very sad experience for his team.

He explained that having had his bag broken into and property stolen on a previous Arik flight, he only felt bad for the young women he travelled with as most of them were on that route for the first time.

“It was a sad experience. I led a team of beauty pageants from Lagos to Johannesburg on the October 27; the flight was by 10:45pm.

“Before we boarded the flight that very day, they called the attention of one of us that her bag was torn, immediately I saw it I knew it was Arik that tampered with it because one time I travelled with my family on Arik (Lagos to Johannesburg), they stole my iPad device.

Mr. Sajere said he asked the lady to check for any missing item in the bag. She didn’t because of her eagerness for the trip and because people had started boarding the plane.

The situation, however, worsened upon arrival in Johannesburg.

“Immediately we arrived, a particular girl started complaining that her iPad was gone from her bag.

The girl that her bag was torn then realized that her clothes and jewelry were stolen; my perfume and shoes were also stolen from my bag. Every one of us had one or two things missing from our bags,” Mr. Sajere said.

Just like Ms. Nwafor, Mr. Sajere and his team complained to the airline’s desk in Johannesburg, but were referred to Arik Air’s headquarters in Lagos.

Mr. Sajere said that Arik Air officials in Johannesburg blamed their Lagos colleagues for the theft. They also told him that they had received many such complaints from Lagos passengers.

“We complained at Arik office in Jo’burg and they said we have to get back to Lagos to make a complaint, that it must be the Arik people from Lagos. They also said that a lot of complaints have been coming from their direction,” he said.

Any hope that Mr. Sajere and his team would get a redress at the Lagos office of the airline was dashed a few days later.

“Immediately I got to Lagos with the team, we went to the Lagos Arik office on November 1 (2013).

I was speaking with the station Manager; a Yoruba guy, I can’t recall his name. He was nonchalant over our complaint and later two guys came as if we were in a court asking us what happened, when and how it happened and so on. Then they said we should go online to fill a form which can easily be denied and meanwhile there was no form online to be filled out,” he said.

When the team boarded the transit bus from the international terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport to the local terminal, they realised they were not the only victims of the theft on the Arik flights, they met Ms. Nwafor and other passengers who suffered similar fate.

All had returned on the same flight to Lagos from Johannesburg and shared their experiences.

“Immediately we boarded a transit bus in Lagos international airport to local, I was just trying to talk to the lady beside me about what happened,” Mr. Sajere said. “Immediately everybody started complaining about the same issues. It’s a pity that this happens here often, where our litigation doesn’t work, nobody cares.”

One of the members of Mr. Sajere’s team, Queen Irene, was too angered by the loss of her white mini-iPad that she declined to speak further on the matter.

Another passenger on the same flight, Etim Emoh, said that two pairs of shoes were stolen from his bag on another flight to Johannesburg.

Aviation officials react
Several Arik officials spoken to at the Lagos airport by the victims and blamed aviation officials who manage luggage handling for the theft.

But the spokesperson for the aviation agencies, Yakubu Datti, said that it was totally irresponsible for any airline operative to blame the aviation agencies for its inadequacy.

“We don’t get involved in their searches and they should be able to own up,” Mr. Datti said. “It’s a lazy argument for anybody to blame other people for their ineptitude.

We create a plane ground for all users of aviation services and if one out of 10 airlines are blaming us for their inadequacy; it’s a rather lazy argument.

“We believe that any airline not only Arik should sit up to their responsibilities to the passengers because whoever pays to expect some services by these are airlines have the Passengers Bill of Rights protection.”

He noted that all Nigerian air travellers’ right must be respected as contained in the Passenger’s Bill of Rights.

“The Nigerian passenger’s right must be respected as it is done internationally, that is why we do not condone any action in form of disrespect to any passenger flying Nigerian airlines.

“The Passenger Bill clearly states the sanctions and in every airport there is the Consumer Protection Commission, [CPC] desk headed by a Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, staff, where passengers can lodge their complaints,” he said.

He also said there are telephone numbers available for air passengers to call and lay their complaints, saying it is only when such complaints are laid that the agencies undertake investigations.

Furthermore, he encouraged passengers to lodge their complaints or displeasure from any operative to the CPC/NCAA desk.

Despite the complaints by the passengers, however, Arik absolved itself of any wrongdoing.

Arik Air responds
The Public Relations Officer of Arik, Ola Adebanji, replying said while Arik Air is not justifying damage or loss of items by passengers, such cases are global problems not peculiar to the Nigerian airline.

“It is important to state that issues bordering around missing, lost or damaged luggage is a worldwide problem in the air travel industry and not peculiar to any airline,” he said. “For instance, in 2012 alone, nearly 1.8 million pieces of luggage were lost, stolen or damaged by major U.S. airlines- and this is just on domestic flights.”

He also said that Arik Air does not condone stealing by its employees and that most of the thefts are not perpetrated by Arik staff.

“In as much as one is not justifying lost or missing luggage on Arik Air flights, I would like to say that most, if not all of the incidents on Arik Air’s flight were not perpetrated by the airline’s staff.

“Quite a lot of activities are involved in flight operations especially handling of passengers’ luggage. Though the passenger has a contract with Arik Air, other parties are involved in ensuring the contract is discharged,” he said.

Mr. Adebanji explained that the airline has “intensified efforts to ensure that our security staff monitors our passengers’ luggage from the point of check-in to loading.”

He advised all passengers to keep their valuables in their hand luggage and to also notify Arik’s check-in staff of any luggage that contains fragile items to ensure accurate tagging and handling.

The spokesperson said the airline’s recruitment process is usually thorough and applicants tested for integrity. He also said any staff proven guilty of such act would be appropriately dealt with, and passengers compensated in line with aviation industry practice.

Although none of the theft victims of the Lagos-Johannesburg flights got or plan to seek compensation, their frustration has helped them make a decision on the airline.

“The whole experience has left me feeling violated,” Ms. Nwafor said. “I do not intend to fly Arik Air anywhere outside Nigeria based on the number of people that were robbed on a single flight. It suggests to me that whatever is going on is well organized and involves more than two people at any given time to pull it off time and time again.”

What Bishop Oyedepo Said About Boko Haram

The General Overseer, Living Faith Church Worldwide, a.k.a. Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedopo, has decried the incessant attack by the violent Islamic sect.

According to the cleric, the onslaught of Boko Haram in Nigeria was beyond politics and the incessant attacks had taken a toll on Nigeria.

PUNCH reports that Oyedepo made this remark during his visit to the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, at the Government House in Owerri.

His visit is coming on the heels of the discovery of two explosives at a branch of the Living Faith church in Owerri on Saturday by the Imo state police.

Oyedepo expressed gratitude to the governor for the quick intervention made to avert the IEDs from exploding and causing major disaster.

The cleric therefore called for government at all levels to join in the fight against terrorism to ensure a peaceful and united Nigeria, adding that prompt action by government at every level was needed to check the menace of terrorism plaguing the nation.

He however, prayed for God to give Nigerian leaders the wisdom to tackle the insecurity challenges in the nation and also intervene in the fight against terrorism.

In his response, Gov. Okorocha thanked Oyedepo for his visit and assured that government would not relent in its efforts to ensure the security of lives and property of residents in the state.

Two deadly improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were discovered by the Imo state police yesterday at the Living Faith church but they were detonated by the anti-bomb squad deployed to the church thereby averting an explosion that would have killed many.

Recall that in May, Oyedepo had said that for Nigeria to wipe out Boko Haram, the country’s leadership needed to have character, courage and capacity, not just to identify the main causes of the problems but also to be able to deal with them.

Police Officer Slumps in Anambra after being transferred to Borno

A Police officer reportedly slumped yesterday after following a directive by the Inspector General of Police, transferring him to Borno State.

According to ThisDay,the officer, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) attached to the Central Police Station, Nnewi in the Anambra State Police Command, had less than a year left to retire from the service was among the 149 officers affected by the postings to different parts of the country.

He was then rushed to a private hospital in Nnewi where he was revived.......

It was gathered that almost  almost 150 senior police officers within the ranks of ASP and Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) serving in the state were transferred .Some of the affected officers are alleging ethnic bias in the transfers, as most especially the Igbos who are protesting their transfer to the Boko Haram prone states.

Some of the officers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, alleged that while only two officers were transferred to Abia State, 12 officers were transferred to Bauchi; six to Borno; seven to Adamawa; six to Jigawa; seven to Gombe; one to Imo, two to Akwa Ibom two; two to Cross-River; two to Enugu two; two to Edo; three to Delta; and five to Ekiti, among others.

The affected officers were supposed to have reported to their new command on June 9, 2014.

Boko Haram plans to bomb Abuja with petrol tankers

The Department of State Security Services on Wednesday said the Boko Haram sect has devised plans to bomb the nation’s capital with petrol tankers.

The DSS said the information was obtained through intelligence reports on the sect’s activities.

According to the agency, the sect will seize petrol tankers at gunpoint and fill it with improvised devices and that will used to bomb the FCT within the next few days.

The Coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mike Omeri, who spoke at the daily briefing in Abuja alongside the Deputy Director of the DSS, Marilyn Ogar, urged the public to be on the alert particularly when they see any tanker driving dangerously.

Omeri said, “the Nigerian Security services had received intelligence report to the effect that insurgents intends seizing petrol tankers and plant improvised devices in the tankers and drive them to crowded places in Abuja.

“Against this backdrop, we hereby call on the Petrol Tankers Association to be on the red alert and advise their members to report any attempt or seizure of their vehices to security agencies.

“In this wise, Nigerians are also advised to report any broken down tanker in any part of the territory to security agencies. Similarly, we are using this opportunity to appeal to the public to be on the alert particularly when they see any tanker driving dangerously.”

Omeri added that the screening of 486 travellers in Abia State on Monday was not targeted at any group of persons or individual but aimed at ensuring the general security of the country.
